Gwangju and Jeonnam Heavy Rain Advisory Expanded... Up to 200mm Downpour Until the 15th
Heavy rain exceeding 100mm is falling in Gwangju and some parts of Jeonnam, leading to an expansion of the heavy rain advisory.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 14th, the rainfall from midnight to 10 a.m. was 129.5mm in Muan, Jeonnam, 112mm in Yeonggwang (Yeomsan), 101mm in Sinan (Imjado), 88mm in Jangseong, 86.8mm in Yeonggwang, and 61.5mm in Gwangju.
In particular, the maximum hourly rainfall was 63mm in Sinan (Imjado), 58mm in Muan, 53.5mm in Yeonggwang, and 40.5mm in Hampyeong, with a large amount of rain falling heavily in a short period.
The Meteorological Administration expanded the heavy rain advisory, which had been in effect only for Gokseong and Gurye areas at 3 a.m., to include Gwangju Metropolitan City and Naju, Damyang, Jangseong, Hampyeong, and Yeonggwang as of 9 a.m.
