"To Put to Sleep"... American Teenage Mom Puts Drugs in Newborn's Baby Bottle
Lethal Dose of Fentanyl Detected in Deceased Baby's Bottle
Sheriff: "This Is Not Normal... A Horrific Incident Has Occurred"
A shocking incident occurred in the United States where a teenage mother mixed so-called 'zombie drugs' into the formula of her 9-month-old son, leading to his death. She confessed that she did this to put the child to sleep quickly.
According to CBS News on the 12th (local time), Bill Leeper, Sheriff of Nassau County, Florida, recently arrested a 17-year-old woman identified as A on charges of murder and drug possession.
Investigations revealed that A added the narcotic substance fentanyl to the baby bottle containing formula to put the baby to sleep early. She stated, "I thought fentanyl was cocaine." When authorities analyzed the contents of the bottle, they found an amount of fentanyl sufficient to kill 10 adults.
After being fed from the bottle, the baby lost consciousness and was found lying in the living room, already not breathing at the time of discovery. Rescue authorities performed CPR on the baby and transported him to the hospital, but he was ultimately pronounced dead.
At a press conference, the sheriff held up the baby bottle and said, "We received a report from the examiner that fentanyl was found in the baby's blood, and the cause of death was fentanyl overdose."
He added, "How can a mother give fentanyl to her child? This is not normal, it is truly a horrific act," condemning the incident.
