Yoon Orders "All-Government Effort for Domestic Heavy Rain Response" in Poland
Phone Call with Prime Minister Han... "Please Keep a Sense of Duty and Do Your Best Until the End"
President Yoon Suk-yeol on the 13th (local time) instructed to "mobilize all government efforts" in response to the recent concentrated heavy rainfall situation in the country.
Currently on an official visit to Poland, President Yoon had a phone call with Prime Minister Han Duck-soo that morning and said, "With the Prime Minister at the center, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Korea Forest Service, National Fire Agency, National Police Agency, and local governments should activate an all-out response system to ensure that there is no loss of life above all else."
In particular, President Yoon said, "Since the rainy season has already begun and the ground has weakened, landslides can easily occur even with a small amount of rain, and there is a high possibility of casualties among residents who could not evacuate due to concentrated rainfall at night," adding, "Thoroughly inspect mountain slopes and check the alarm system so that emergency evacuation can be carried out even at night when danger arises."
He also mentioned the damage to crops caused by the heavy rain and ordered investigations and support, emphasizing, "Make every effort to stabilize supply and demand so that there is no price surge due to shipment delays."
