Kim Dong-yeon to Hold 'Handshake Talk' with 10,000 Residents on 22nd for Second Year in Office
Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon will hold a "Handshake Talk" with 10,000 Gyeonggi residents to mark the second year of the 8th term of the elected government.
On the 13th, Gyeonggi Province announced that on the 22nd at 7 p.m., Governor Kim Dong-yeon will hold the "Midsummer Night Handshake Talk with the Governor" at Suwon First Outdoor Music Hall to listen humbly and communicate with residents with the same mindset as when he took office.
Gyeonggi Province reported that over 20,000 residents applied to participate in this Handshake Talk, which recruited participants from June 26 to July 10.
Initially, Gyeonggi Province planned to invite 1,400 residents, symbolizing the total population of 14 million in the province, to this event. However, due to higher-than-expected interest from residents, the number of invitees was increased to 10,000.
Gyeonggi Province individually notified the attendees via their mobile phone numbers on the day.
The Handshake Talk will be conducted under the theme "Talking about Opportunities," allowing free communication with residents. After the Handshake Talk, performances by Kim Joo-hong and Noreummachi, Sweet Sorrow, and Baek Ji-young will follow.
At the event venue, the "Paran31 Handshake Cafe" mobile civil service office, which has been traveling across all 31 cities and counties since the 23rd of last month to communicate with residents, will also appear.
Opinions written by residents over the past month will be collected in the "Residents' Wish Box" and directly delivered to the governor at the event. The main contents will be actively reflected in future provincial administration operations.
