SKC Supports Eco-Friendly Consumption with Sustainable Plastic Platform
Agreement with Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute
SKC is expanding eco-friendly consumption by utilizing an eco-friendly plastic platform.
On the 13th, SKC announced that it signed a business agreement with the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI), an organization under the Ministry of Environment, to promote resource circulation and the spread of eco-friendly lifestyles.
They plan to provide information on products certified under the Environmental Labeling System on the eco-friendly plastic platform "My Green Place" and jointly develop various content to encourage the consumption of environmentally labeled products. They will also collaborate on nationwide campaigns to spread eco-friendly culture using My Green Place and environmental education cooperation targeting future generations.
The Environmental Labeling System is a representative eco-friendly product certification system that certifies products and services that reduce energy and resource consumption and minimize pollutant generation from production to consumption, awarding an eco-friendly mark. It is implemented in over 40 countries worldwide and has been in effect in South Korea since 1992, with currently about 20,000 certified products.
My Green Place is South Korea’s first mobile game-type separation and disposal information platform launched by SKC last year on Earth Day (April 22). By scanning the barcode of products using containers such as plastic, users can easily check explanations about the materials and separation and disposal methods. It currently has nearly 70,000 downloads.

Choi Gap-ryong, Head of SKC ESG Promotion Division, said, "Through My Green Place, we will be able to further promote the Environmental Labeling System to consumers and expand the use of eco-friendly products," adding, "We will carry out various activities to raise awareness of resource circulation and spread an eco-friendly consumption culture."
