'Gangnam Drug Drink' Mastermind Arrested by Chinese Public Security... Repatriation to Korea Underway
In April, the main culprit who distributed drug-laced beverages to students in the Gangnam area was apprehended in China.
The National Police Agency confirmed on the 12th that Lee (26), a Korean national, was arrested by Chinese public security on May 24, and efforts are underway to repatriate him to South Korea.
The police identified that Lee stayed in China to plan the crime and instructed domestic and international members to manufacture and distribute the drug beverages. They obtained an arrest warrant from the court and issued an Interpol red notice to track his whereabouts.

Lee is presumed to be a middleman in a voice phishing organization based in China. He informed acquaintances that he was going to China to participate in voice phishing crimes and departed last October.
