Imsil-gun, Jisamyeon and 7 Other Locations to Promote Basic Living Base Development Project

Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk recently held a groundbreaking briefing session for the Sinpyeong-myeon Basic Living Base Development Project at the Sinpyeong-myeon Office, attended by about 20 people including the promotion committee and local residents.

According to the county on the 12th, this groundbreaking briefing session was held to share detailed plans and future schedules of the project based on the outcomes of the basic and detailed plans that had been devised together with the promotion committee.

The Sinpyeong-myeon Basic Living Base Development Project is a project aimed at supplementing public hub functions centered on the original site of Woncheon-ri, Sinpyeong-myeon, and expanding living SOC such as education, culture, and welfare to provide services to residents of the site and surrounding villages.

The main project contents include hardware projects such as the creation of Sinpyeong Market, Eoulmadang, and Anshim Samgeori, as well as software projects such as resident capacity building, cultural events, and programs for surrounding villages.

A total project cost of 4 billion KRW (2.8 billion KRW national funds, 1.2 billion KRW local funds) will be invested from 2020 to 2023, and the project is scheduled to be actively promoted starting this month.

In particular, the Sinpyeong Market development project is expected to serve as a focal point of the region by securing parking spaces and providing cultural space within the site, thereby ensuring residents' safety and creating community spaces.

Including 2.8 billion KRW in national funds, a total of 4.3 billion KRW is being invested in the Jisa-myeon Basic Living Base Development Project, which has also been underway for four years from 2020 to 2023.

The Jisa-myeon Basic Living Base Development Project is based on the vision of ‘Jisa-myeon as a place of enjoyment connecting the history, culture, and community of Jisa,’ and involves remodeling and expanding the existing welfare center to establish the Jisa Welfare Enjoyment Center, as well as creating Jisarang Madang and parking lots for local community activities.

Local residents who attended the groundbreaking briefing session expressed satisfaction and expectations regarding the project plan and urged that the project management be thoroughly maintained without letting down their guard until the project is completed.

Currently, the county is striving to improve residents' quality of life through the promotion of basic living base development projects in seven locations including Jisa-myeon.

County Governor Shim Min said, “Through this project, we expect to enhance the basic hub functions of the Sinpyeong-myeon site, improving residents' quality of life and establishing it as a service supply hub for the community activation and other regional services.”
