Gurye Social Security Council Delivers Nutritious Food to Neighbors in Need

400 Sets of Health-Boosting Meals Delivered for Chobok

The Gurye-gun Community Security Council in Jeollanam-do (Private Chairman Im Jae-shin) announced on the 11th that they prepared health food sets including abalone samgyetang and delivered them to 400 vulnerable households in the district to mark the beginning of the hottest period of summer (Chobok).

This event was the first project selected by the Gurye-gun Community Security Council through a public contest for the Jeonnam Social Welfare Community Chest's sharing culture expansion project, organized to help neighbors in need have a healthy summer.

Council members and Saemaeul Women's Association members gathered early in the morning to carefully prepare samgyetang and fresh kimchi, making 400 health food sets including yakbap (medicinal rice) and fruit. The community security councils in the towns and townships personally delivered the sets to single vulnerable households and those in welfare blind spots, checking on their health and well-being.

County Governor Kim Soon-ho said, “I thank the council members and Saemaeul Women's Association members who prepared this meaningful event with a heart for neighbors in need,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure that no one suffers due to the hot summer weather.”

Im Jae-shin, Private Chairman of the Gurye-gun Community Security Council, said, “Many recipients of the health food sets expressed their gratitude, saying they felt very honored, which makes me proud,” and shared his thoughts, “I hope the prepared health food sets become a hearty meal that strengthens the body and mind of neighbors in need.”

Meanwhile, the Gurye-gun Community Security Council plans to continue the sharing culture expansion project targeting welfare blind spots such as high-risk single-person households, housing crisis households, children, adolescents, and women, starting with this health food support.
