Jangseong-gun Holds 'Village Chief Communication Meeting'... Listening to Difficulties

Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do is drawing attention by starting the ‘Village Chief Communication Meeting’ to listen to residents' opinions.

On the 12th, the county announced that starting from Jangseong-eup on the 11th, it will hold meetings while touring 11 eup and myeon areas including Seosam-myeon and Samseo-myeon until the 20th.

Residents were also prioritized in setting the meeting schedule.

Considering that it is the busy farming season requiring much labor, the county planned the meetings without setting separate times, instead having County Governor Kim Han-jong participate in the existing monthly village chief meetings.

At the communication meetings held on the first day in Jangseong-eup and Seosam-myeon, time was spent listening to local residents' opinions and sharing the progress of agenda items received during the ‘Dialogue with Citizens’ held earlier this year.

Governor Kim had previously toured 11 eup and myeon areas in early January to conduct the ‘Dialogue with Citizens’.

He met with about 1,200 residents, conveyed 188 received agenda items to the relevant departments, and worked hard to find prompt solutions.

Governor Kim Han-jong said, “We will listen to the opinions of village chiefs who serve as a bridge between citizens and administration to quickly resolve village difficulties and use them as a guide for county administration. We plan to continue a ‘serving administration’ that treats Jangseong residents as the owners.”
