Researcher Kim Geon of Chosun University Receives Minister of Health and Welfare Award for Contributions to Integrated Health Promotion
Geon Kim, a researcher at Chosun University College of Medicine, was recognized for his contribution to the integrated health promotion of Gwangju Metropolitan City and received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award.
According to Chosun University (President Min Young-don) on the 12th, Geon Kim, a researcher at the Department of Preventive Medicine and the Gwangju Integrated Health Promotion Project Support Group at the College of Medicine, received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award at the '2023 Local Government Joint Performance Conference and Conference' held at The-K Convention Center on the 7th.
Researcher Kim was recognized for his efforts over the past seven years to support the Gwangju Integrated Health Promotion Project.
The Gwangju Integrated Health Promotion Project Support Group plays a role in comprehensively reviewing health promotion project plans for Gwangju city and districts to establish and implement efficient project plans for the health promotion of Gwangju citizens.
It also monitors the status of project operations according to the project plans to understand the progress of the projects and supports necessary modifications and improvements when needed.
Through regular meetings with health promotion officers from the city, public health centers, and related organizations, it coordinates opinions, facilitates communication and cooperation, and hosts health promotion campaigns for smoking cessation, obesity, and prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. After the completion of health promotion projects, it evaluates the project operation performance to discover and share best practices, addresses issues, and supports their reflection in the next year's projects.
