On the 12th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it held a completion ceremony for the Mongolian medical professionals' training program at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Situation Room on the afternoon of the 11th.
Ten Mongolian trainees underwent a four-week training period in June and July, receiving education on excellent clinical skills and IT-based advanced medical technologies at four hospitals in the province: Catholic University Bucheon St. Mary's Hospital, Korea University Ansan Hospital, Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital, and Myongji Hospital.
Among the trainees attending the completion ceremony were six medical doctors specializing in surgery, neurosurgery, and obstetrics and gynecology from the Mongolian National Medical Center, Mongolia First Central Hospital, and Mongolia Second Provincial Hospital. Four other trainees from Mongolia Tube Imakju Hospital, who had already completed their training, had returned to their home country.
During the training period, they showed great interest in treatment techniques for severe diseases requiring advanced medical skills, 'Smart IT medical technologies' introduced and operated by Gyeonggi hospitals, and robot surgeries utilizing cutting-edge medical equipment.
As part of follow-up projects after signing health and medical cooperation agreements, Gyeonggi Province has promoted overseas medical professional invitation training programs targeting medical personnel from ten countries including Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
From 2011 to 2022, a total of 810 overseas medical professionals from 10 countries experienced and received education on Gyeonggi Province’s advanced medical technologies through the overseas medical professional training support project.
This year, a total of 90 trainees from partner countries wishing to receive medical training in Gyeonggi, including Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Vietnam, will be invited directly or participate in online training.
