Saewool Nuclear Headquarters, Flood Prevention Construction for Frequent Flooding Area in Yeonsan Village
Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power carried out flood prevention construction in the frequently flooded areas of Yeonsan Village, Seosaeng-myeon, Ulju-gun, a village near the headquarters, in preparation for heavy summer rains.
Yeonsan Village suffered significant damage several times due to river flooding in 2014, 2020, and 2023, which inundated residents' homes and farmland.
Saewool Nuclear Power completed the installation of flood prevention facilities to prevent river flooding on the 10th, following requests for flood prevention construction in the frequently flooded areas of Yeonsan Village and consultations with local residents.
Additionally, nearby Sinri Village has also experienced residential flooding caused by seawater during typhoons, and flood prevention facilities are planned to be installed in the future according to weather forecasts.
Officials from Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters and Yeonsan Village are taking a commemorative photo after completing flood prevention construction.
