Police Conduct Search and Seizure at Donghaean Economic Free Zone Authority over 'Mangsang District Favoritism Allegations'
The police have launched a forced investigation, including a search and seizure, as they examine allegations of preferential treatment in the selection process of Nam Mo, the main culprit of the Incheon Michuhol-gu jeonse fraud case known as the 'Construction King,' as the developer for the Donghae Mangsang District project.
The Serious Crime Investigation Division of the National Police Agency conducted a search and seizure at four locations, including the office of the Donghae Economic Free Zone Authority (Dongja-cheong) in Donghae City, Gangwon Province, and residences of related personnel, starting at 9:50 a.m. on the 11th, in connection with allegations of corruption in the Donghae Mangsang District development project.
The police suspect abuse of authority by Dongja-cheong officials, such as having evaluation committee members rewrite their review reports after the fact during the investment review committee meetings for selecting the developer, and have moved to secure evidence.
