MFDS Announces Temporary Narcotics Designation for 'MDMB-Inaca'
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 11th that 'MDMB-INACA' is preliminarily designated as a temporary narcotic (Group 2).
MDMB-INACA is a new synthetic cannabis-type substance that has been attempted to be imported into the country for abuse and misuse purposes. It has a structure similar to 'MDMB-5BR-INACA,' which has already been designated as a temporary narcotic, and is a substance that may cause physical and mental harm.
The temporary narcotic designation system is a system that designates substances that are not currently narcotics but are abused as substitutes for narcotics and pose a risk to public health as temporary narcotics for up to three years. Since its implementation in 2011, a total of 261 substances have been designated, of which 161 have been designated as narcotics after evaluating their dependency potential.
