Illegal Gambling Suspicion Against Lee Cheon-ung Confirmed Using Alias Accounts... Summons Imminent
It has been confirmed that Lee Cheon-woong, a player for the LG Twins in professional baseball who is suspected of illegal gambling, used a borrowed-name account during the gambling activities.
According to the police on the 10th, the Gwangjin Police Station traced Lee's account and confirmed that he used an account under someone else's name while gambling online, and they plan to investigate the owner of this account.
It is known that Lee gave coercive orders to a junior to transfer money to an illegal internet gambling site.
A police official stated, "After obtaining a warrant and analyzing Lee's account, evidence emerged that gambling was conducted using another person's account," adding, "We plan to summon the owner of the account first for questioning, followed by summoning Lee."
Earlier, the KBO received a tip at the end of March that "a player from a metropolitan area team engaged in illegal internet gambling," and requested an investigation into Lee by the prosecution.
