'K-Story & Comics' Held in Paris, France
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 10th that they held 'K-Story & Comics in Europe' in Paris, France from the 4th to the 6th, generating contracts worth 5.27 million USD.
K-Story & Comics in Europe is an event that provides business opportunities for domestic publishing, webtoon, video, and game companies aiming to enter the European market. This year, fifteen companies participated, conducting export consultations, webtoon conferences, contract signing ceremonies, and networking receptions. Participants included A2Z Entertainment of "Appa-ga Doen Idol" (Idol Who Became a Father), Daewon C.I. of "Nega Jug-gil Baral Ttaega Isseotda" (There Was a Time I Wished You Dead), Dooseven Entertainment of "Wet Sand," Donut Peach of "Eoneu Nal Jeolchin-i Namja-ga Doeeobeoryeotda" (One Day My Best Friend Became a Man), EO Contents Group of "Jugeum-ui Kkot" (Flower of Death), Haksan Publishing of "Mukhyang Dark Lady," Kenaz of "Oppa-reul Wihae Namju-reul Kkosyeobogessseumnida" (I Will Seduce the Male Lead for Oppa), People & Story of "Nineteen," Lockin Korea of "Jeokdanghan Ondo" (Moderate Temperature), RS Media of "Eonni-neun Yeodongsaeng-eul Bareuge Kiweoya Hamnida" (My Sister Must Raise Her Younger Sister Right), Safe House of "Daeri Unjeon" (Substitute Driver), Sound Alliance of "Hwangtaejabi-ro Debyuhamnida" (Debuting as Crown Princess), Story Wars of "Debuff Master," To You Dream of "Villain to Kill," and Woowa Brothers of "Saengjon Ilji" (Survival Diary). Many local content buyers showed active interest. These included Mediawan, the largest media group in Europe; French publisher Dupuis; Spanish publisher Norma Editorial; French media group Media Participations; French webtoon platform Ono; French web novel platform Neoble; US content producer Whip; global game company Ubisoft; and German publisher Papertoonz.
According to the Korea Creative Content Agency, about 300 export consultations were conducted, with contract amounts totaling approximately 5.27 million USD. An official stated, "'Villain to Kill' signed a contract with French comic publisher Catoon, and Sound Alliance signed a business agreement with Neoble including contracts for five works. Lockin Korea also signed a business agreement with comic publishing and production company Markma." They added, "Through various conferences, we were able to understand the charm and influence of K-content as perceived locally and explore ways for mutual growth with French content."

The Korea Creative Content Agency plans to hold K-Story & Comics again in North America and Germany in the second half of the year. Director Cho Hyun-rae promised, "K-Story and webtoons are original IPs that will develop into diverse genre contents. We will continue to connect with global content companies to enhance competitiveness and help establish a foundation for overseas expansion."
