Lotte Insurance has secured exclusive rights for three months to a new insurance product that guarantees diagnosis benefits for metastatic cancer as well.
On the 10th, Lotte Insurance announced that it had been granted exclusive usage rights for the 'Integrated Metastatic Cancer Diagnosis Benefit,' subdivided into eight types based on primary cancer, included in the 'Let's Smile Comprehensive Cancer Insurance (88)' launched on the 5th of last month. Accordingly, Lotte Insurance can exclusively sell this type of product until early October.
This product is the industry's first to classify metastatic cancer into eight areas according to the original site of occurrence, as well as covering primary cancer (initial occurrence cancer), and provides coverage up to eight times. Another advantage is that it allows differential setting of diagnosis benefits for each metastatic cancer, considering the pathological characteristics of cancers prone to metastasis.
Lotte Insurance explained that it was developed to address the blind spots in coverage of general cancer and metastatic cancer diagnosis benefit products that only cover the first occurrence once and then expire. Existing cancer insurance structures provide coverage upon diagnosis of the initial cancer (primary cancer) and then the coverage expires, so if metastasis occurs to other organs, it cannot be covered.
