Selecting 10 Sites Excelling in Monthly Online Data Submission to Receive 'Snack Boxes'
The National Library of Korea will hold the event "The National Library of Korea Sends Snack Boxes!" from July to November. Each month, 10 publishers, academic societies, organizations, and institutions that have submitted or deposited online materials (e-books, webtoons, web novels, audiobooks, electronic journals) will be selected to receive a snack box worth approximately 50,000 KRW. This initiative aims to promote the submission of online materials for their permanent preservation, which are prone to loss.
Ryu Eun-young, head of the Online Materials Division at the National Library of Korea, stated, "The National Library of Korea is the only national knowledge preservation institution responsible for collecting and permanently preserving online materials in the country. We plan to continuously collaborate with publishers and related organizations to expand the submission and collection of online materials."
