The Samyang Igon Future Talent Scholarship program is designed to discover and nurture outstanding talents in the fields of food and biotechnology. It was newly introduced this year, separate from the existing scholarship programs. Among third-year students majoring in food and biotechnology at seven major domestic universities, those with excellent academic records are selected and awarded a scholarship of 2 million KRW per semester, totaling 4 million KRW annually, until graduation. This year, two students from each school, totaling 14, were selected as scholarship recipients.
The Samyang Igon Scholarship Foundation was established in 1970 by the late Honorary Chairman Jeon Jung-yoon, the founder of Samyang Foods. The foundation carries out various scholarship programs, including support for academic research related to food. To date, it has awarded scholarships to approximately 13,500 students.
