Busan City will hold the '2023 On-site Meeting with Nuclear Power Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)' at 2 PM on the 10th in the International Conference Hall of City Hall.
This meeting is an opportunity to share recent information and trends in the nuclear power industry and to listen to the difficulties faced by nuclear power companies in the Busan area. It was organized to strengthen the self-sustainability of local nuclear power SMEs and to secure industrial competitiveness.
Although the city has continuously held seminars to foster the local nuclear power industry, this is the first time an on-site meeting focusing on listening to corporate difficulties and suggestions has been held.
Hosted by Busan City and organized by Busan Technopark, about 100 nuclear power-related personnel from related organizations and local companies, including the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Korea Nuclear Industry Association, and Small and Medium Business Technology Information Promotion Agency, are expected to attend.
The on-site meeting will proceed with presentations on support projects for nuclear power companies by nuclear-related organizations and plans to strengthen the nuclear power industry ecosystem, followed by listening to corporate difficulties and free discussions.
In particular, government officials from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, who are responsible for related policies, will directly attend the meeting to hear the difficulties and opinions of nuclear power SMEs in the Southeast region, providing a more realistic opportunity to convey local voices.
The city plans to thoroughly review the major difficulties heard at the on-site meeting in cooperation with related organizations (departments) and reflect them in the 2024 local nuclear power company support projects.
