Korea Elected as FAO Governing Board Member for 13th Consecutive Term
South Korea has been elected as a member of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Council for the 13th consecutive time.

View original imageThe Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 8th that South Korea was elected as a member of the next FAO Council at the 43rd FAO Conference.
The term of activity as a council member will last until June 2027.
Among Asian countries, nine nations including South Korea, China, Japan, India, and Indonesia were elected as council members.

The FAO is a UN-affiliated agricultural organization established to eradicate hunger, improve nutrition, and alleviate food insecurity. The council meets 2 to 3 times a year to review and coordinate mid-term plans, business directions, budgets, and other matters submitted to the general conference in advance.
