"Attacked More After Being Caught Stealing"
Won Hee-ryong, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, has completely scrapped the Seoul~Yangpyeong Expressway project, prompting Seo Young-kyo, Supreme Council Member of the Democratic Party of Korea, to criticize it as "a situation where they attack more fiercely after being caught stealing."
On the 7th, Seo appeared on KBS Radio's 'Choi Kyung-young's Strongest Current Affairs' and said, "The Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport does not have the authority to completely scrap the project, and this is something that requires an apology to the public and accountability."

On the 6th, following a party-government meeting with the People Power Party, he held a briefing and said, "If anyone in the power elite, members of the National Assembly, or private individuals have received any related requests, or if anyone under my command involved in the project has reported or instructed such matters, I will stake not only my position as minister but also my political life," taking a strong stance.
In response, Supreme Council Member Seo countered that Minister Won was already aware that the Kim family owned land in Gangsaeng-myeon. He said, "The fact that the Kim family owns a large amount of land in Yangpyeong-gun was a matter that caused a stir in South Korea," and mentioned that during the National Assembly audit in October last year, Democratic Party lawmaker Han Jun-ho questioned Minister Won about the land in Byeongsan-ri, Gangsaeng-myeon, owned by the Kim family.
Seo said, "(At that time, lawmaker Han) asked how Minister Won viewed the issue that these (Byeongsan-ri) lands, which were previously forest land, had their land use changed and suddenly skyrocketed in value, which is problematic," adding, "This was a question from a member of the National Assembly, and if it involves such matters, wouldn't the Ministry of Land officials all be present behind? They all know the details."
