Five Cases Selected Including ‘Efficiency Promotion of Public Contributions for G-Valley Environmental Improvement’
From 2023, the Number of Excellent Cases Selected Increased and Incentives for Outstanding Public Officials Strengthened
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) has selected five ‘Excellent Cases of Proactive Administration for the First Half of 2023’ that contributed to improving residents’ convenience through creative and proactive work promotion.
The district received recommendations for proactive administration cases from residents and departments, conducted preliminary evaluations on residents’ perceived impact, and the proactiveness, creativity, and expertise of the persons in charge, and then selected the excellent cases through the final review by the Proactive Administration Committee.
The excellent cases for the first half of the year are ▲(Grand Prize) Efficiency Promotion of Public Contributions for G-Valley Environmental Improvement ▲(Excellence) Green Space Utilization Contracts on Private Land and Free Land Use Contracts for Flood Damage Recovery in Parks and Forests ▲(Excellence) Resolution of Resident Requests for Residential Environment Improvement through Rapid Integrated Planning ▲(Encouragement) Enhancement of Innovative Policy Communication through New Promotional Methods ▲(Encouragement) Securing Safe School Routes for Children through Improvement Projects in Child Protection Zones, totaling five cases.
Geumcheon-gu has been selecting excellent cases of proactive administration annually since 2021 to spread an actively working organizational atmosphere and boost employee morale, and selects employees who achieved results through these tasks as outstanding public officials.
Starting this year, the number of excellent cases selected has been expanded from once a year (3 cases) to twice a year (10 cases). Employees selected as outstanding public officials receive incentives such as the mayor’s commendation, special promotion, highest grade performance pay, and welfare points.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “We have designated and are operating a ‘Proactive Administration Liability Protection Officer’ to protect public officials who recently promoted proactive administration,” adding, “We will continue to reduce the burden on public officials regarding proactive administration through various supports and strive to establish a culture of proactive administration in the public service.”
