Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it completed the installation of 105 smart security lights in the residential area of Shingil 1-dong last month.
Shingil 1-dong is a densely populated area with multi-family and multi-household residences. The district invested approximately 100 million KRW to install smart security lights to eliminate safety blind spots and create a bright and safe walking environment.
Smart security lights are LED lights equipped with IoT signal devices. They are linked with the Seoul Ansimi app, making them effective for emergency reporting and safe return monitoring, thereby fostering a safer way home.
In case of an emergency, pressing the report button on the Ansimi app causes nearby security lights to flash, instantly transmitting the urgent situation to the Yeongdeungpo-gu Integrated Control Center. This allows the police and nearby people to accurately identify the reporter’s location, which is expected to greatly contribute to preventing crimes and safety accidents in the area.
Additionally, when the ‘Safe Return Monitoring’ feature of the Ansimi app is activated, the brightness of the smart security lights automatically increases as users pass nearby, illuminating dark streets at night.
Smart security light managers can check the status of the lights in real time via PC or smartphone, and even when managers are absent, malfunction details are immediately notified via text message, enabling proactive maintenance before complaints arise.
Currently, a total of 683 smart security lights are installed in Yeongdeungpo-gu, and the district plans to continue expanding the smart security lights to ensure safe routes home for residents.
