Urgent Arrest of Biological Father and Maternal Grandmother for Infant Murder and Body Abandonment
The biological father and maternal grandmother who killed an infant without registering the birth and abandoned the body have been arrested by the police.
According to the police on the 6th, the Yongin Dongbu Police Station in Gyeonggi Province urgently arrested A, a man in his 40s, on charges of murder and corpse abandonment at around 2:30 a.m. that day. B, the infant's maternal grandmother in her 60s, who is suspected of participating in the crime, was also urgently arrested at around 11:30 a.m. on the same day.
A is suspected of killing a boy born in March 2015 to his wife C and then abandoning the body. The time of the crime is known to be close to the time of birth. After the crime, the body was reportedly abandoned in a nearby mountain.
The police began an investigation after receiving a request from Yongin City the previous day regarding an unregistered birth infant. It is preliminarily investigated that they committed the crime without informing C, who was recovering after childbirth.
The police are currently conducting a search operation centered on the location mentioned by A to find the body.
