Donation to Be Used for Operating the ‘Filial Piety Meal Cooking Center’
Multinational companies Mean Well (MEAN WELL SINGAPORE PTE. LTD.) and Duseong System have donated 30 million KRW to the Mapo Welfare Foundation to support the operation of the ‘Filial Piety Meal Program for Residents Aged 75 and Older.’
The Filial Piety Meal Program, run by Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su), provides free balanced lunches to seniors aged 75 and above to prevent hunger and malnutrition.
It operates as a one-stop integrated welfare service that not only provides meals but also checks on seniors’ well-being and health status simultaneously.
Mean Well and Duseong System expressed their sympathy with the purpose of this project and pledged to provide donations for its continuous operation. The donation ceremony was held on the 28th of last month.
Lee Tae-woo, CEO of Duseong System, said, “Although the company is now located in another area, since it was founded in Mapo, we have a special affection for Mapo-gu. We plan to continue our social contribution activities to help the underprivileged residents of Mapo.”
The donation will be used to operate the upcoming ‘Filial Piety Meal Cooking Center’ to ensure stable management of the Filial Piety Meal Program.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “We had many concerns and difficulties securing the budget for operating the Filial Piety Meal Program, so we deeply appreciate Mean Well and Duseong System for showing interest in the project and supporting its revitalization. We will work harder to ensure the stable operation of the program so that seniors can continue to enjoy meals that are both delicious and nutritious.”
