60 Children with 'Unreported Births' Investigated by Police in Incheon...Location Confirmed for 10
As the government conducts a comprehensive investigation into cases of 'unregistered births,' it has been reported that a total of 60 children in Incheon are subject to police investigation.
According to the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency on the 5th, as of midnight, a total of 60 unregistered birth children from eight districts, including Michuhol-gu and Seo-gu in Incheon, have been referred to the police for investigation or had their whereabouts requested for confirmation. This is an increase of 30 from the previous day.
The whereabouts of 10 of these children have been confirmed, with most found to be living in protective facilities or having been adopted.
The police have booked one biological mother who abandoned a child in a baby box, and investigations into three others were closed as there was no evidence of criminal activity.
The police are continuing investigations on the remaining 50 children, and if any criminal evidence is found, they plan to switch to a full investigation and question the parents.
