Sunchang-gun Secures 4.6 Billion Won in Special Funds... Major Pending Projects Gain Momentum
Jungbuk Sunchang-gun has secured a total of 4.6 billion KRW, including 2.3 billion KRW from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s special grant and 2.3 billion KRW from Jeonbuk Province’s special adjustment grant, to promote key projects in the first half of the year.
According to the county on the 5th, it is evaluated as a valuable achievement obtained through the wide-ranging efforts of Sunchang County Governor Choi Young-il, who visited the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Jeonbuk Province from the beginning of the year to explain the necessity of securing funds and actively request support.
The projects for which the county secured the budget through the special grant include the installation of a branch office for the agricultural machinery rental center (500 million KRW), the construction of a senior citizens’ center (300 million KRW), maintenance projects such as small streams (600 million KRW), and the reconstruction of the bridge on Local Road No. 730 (400 million KRW).
Among these, the installation of the branch office for the agricultural machinery rental center will be established in Bokheung-myeon to improve convenience for local farmers living far from the existing rental center, and it is expected to benefit about 2,500 farmers in the nearby Bokheung-myeon and Ssangchi-myeon areas.
In addition, the comprehensive welfare center for the disabled and elderly located in Sunchang-eup will be expanded to support seniors in living a healthier and more vibrant life in a better environment.
By securing 2.3 billion KRW in special adjustment grants distributed by Jeollabuk-do to cities and counties to cover specific financial demands such as regional development projects, policy projects, and disasters, momentum is expected to build for promoting local projects such as the creation of Churyeong Jangseung Village Theme Park (500 million KRW), the reconstruction of the bridge on Local Road No. 730 (500 million KRW), the improvement of the Gugak Center environment (300 million KRW), and the creation of the Fermentation Theme Park Music Playground (200 million KRW).
Governor Choi Young-il said, “I believe this achievement in securing special funds was made possible by the active support of local members of the National Assembly and provincial councilors,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to secure external funds such as national subsidies so that necessary projects can be promoted in a timely manner from the perspective of the residents.”
