KOSPI Closes Down 0.55% at 2579.00... Institutions 'Sell'
Ecopro Closes at 943,000 Won, Up 6.43%
On the 5th, the KOSPI closed in a downward trend. Although foreigners turned to a 'buying' stance, the index fell below the 2580 level due to institutional investors' 'selling' pressure.
The KOSPI closed at 2579.00, down 0.55% (14.31 points) from the previous day. It opened at 2593.47, up 0.01% (0.16 points), and touched the 2600 level during the session but then shifted to a downward trend.
Institutions pulled the index down, with institutions alone net selling 614.2 billion KRW. Individuals and foreigners net bought 324.9 billion KRW and 256.2 billion KRW, respectively. In the futures market, individuals and institutions net bought 498.7 billion KRW and 627.6 billion KRW, respectively, while foreigners alone net sold 1.128 trillion KRW.
Among the top 10 stocks by market capitalization, only Samsung Biologics (+1.21%) and POSCO Holdings (+0.12%) closed higher. Samsung Electronics fell by 1.37%, Hyundai Motor by 1.20%, NAVER by 1.17%, and SK Hynix by 1.02%.
The KOSDAQ closed at 891.18, up 0.13% (1.18 points) from the previous day. It opened at 890.49, up 0.06% (1.18 points), and maintained an upward trend. Individuals and foreigners net bought 108.6 billion KRW and 25.0 billion KRW, respectively, while institutions net sold 108.9 billion KRW.
