Haenam-gun Continues Leading Jeonnam Province with Highest Rapid Execution Rate
Despite Budget Increase, 65.3% Execution Rate Achieves Highest Performance in the Province
Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, ranked first in Jeonnam in the first half of 2023 for rapid execution by local governments, continuing its record as the best in nationwide fiscal execution performance.
According to the county on the 5th, out of the rapid execution target amount of 493.5 billion KRW in the first half of this year, 322.1 billion KRW was executed, achieving an execution rate of 65.3%, the highest among the 22 cities and counties in Jeonnam.
In particular, in the consumption and investment sectors that directly affect the local economy, the county exceeded the first half target amount of 192.3 billion KRW by executing 248.6 billion KRW, achieving an execution rate of 129.3%, playing a significant role in revitalizing the local economy amid domestic and international economic downturns.
Haenam-gun has held departmental self-inspection meetings and regular progress report meetings to actively promote rapid execution, while analyzing reasons for delays and seeking solutions through case management of underperforming projects and checking the progress of carryover projects.
Especially for projects with significant economic ripple effects and close relevance to residents' lives, the county frequently checked execution prospects and maximized expenditure expansion by advancing payments and progress payments for various goods and construction fees.
Since entering the era of a 1 trillion KRW local budget in 2019, Haenam-gun’s local finances operated 1.3217 trillion KRW last year, making it the largest scale among county-level governments nationwide.
Despite the increase in budget size, the execution rate has also increased annually, reaching 85.8% last year, ranking first nationwide.
