Ulsan City will provide daily care services for middle-aged adults in need of care and young family caregivers.
Ulsan City was selected for the "Daily Care Service Project" announced by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and will implement the project from the second half of this year with a total budget of 1.065 billion KRW (including 750 million KRW in national funds).
The "Daily Care Service" is a project that integrates and provides care, household, and emotional support services previously offered at home to middle-aged adults in need of care (aged 40 to 64) due to illness, injury, or isolation, and young family caregivers (aged 13 to 39) who take care of family members and are responsible for their livelihood.
The services provided by Ulsan City include home care and household services, meal and nutrition management services, hospital accompaniment services, and psychological support services.
Recipients are selected based on "service need" rather than "income level," prioritizing people to access the services.
Users pay a differentiated co-payment according to their income level and can use the necessary services, with the service period limited to six months per household.
Ulsan City plans to recruit institutions to provide the services in July to establish the foundation and begin recruiting users from August.

A city official stated, "Existing services have mainly been provided for the elderly, children, and people with disabilities, but we will offer daily care services to middle-aged adults and young family caregivers who are in welfare blind spots to ease their burdens and improve their quality of life. We will strive to achieve good results so that we can expand the support targets further in the future."
