Police Tracking Suspect in CCTV Footage
A male body with some body parts severed was found at a hotel in Sapporo, Japan, prompting local police to launch an investigation.
According to the Yomiuri Shimbun and other sources on the 3rd, around 3 p.m. the previous day, a headless male body was discovered in a hotel room in the Susukino district of Sapporo City.
According to the police, the victim was discovered by a hotel employee who found it strange that the man had not checked out despite the passage of time and visited a room on the second floor. The employee immediately reported the body to the police upon discovery. When the police arrived following the report, the victim was already deceased and was believed to have died not long before. The victim is presumed to be an adult.
The police who arrived at the scene have classified this as a murder case and established a task force that afternoon.
According to investigation officials, the man was found in the bathroom inside the room, and the body was missing its head. No belongings that could identify the victim were found.
The police plan to perform an autopsy on the body to determine the identity and cause of death.

CCTV installed in the hotel reportedly captured footage of the deceased man entering the room with another man, and the other man leaving the room alone. The police are pursuing the man who left alone as the prime suspect in the murder.
