Yoon Woo-young, Chairman of the Korean Directors Association, Passes Away at 62
Yoon Woo-young, chairman of the Korean Directors Association, passed away on the 2nd after battling illness. He was 61 years old.
After graduating from the Graduate School of Theatre at the University of Bristol in the UK, he founded the theater company Cheongmaek and worked as a director on various productions. He served as the secretary general of the Korean branch of the International Theatre Institute and as a professor at the College of Arts at Daejin University. Since 2018, he had been serving as the chairman of the Korean Directors Association, completing the incorporation of the association and its designation as a professional arts corporation.
His representative works include "God's Agnes," "Joseon Royal Spirit Tablet," "Copenhagen," "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," and "Kalman." He received awards such as the Baeksang Arts Award, Dong-A Theatre Award, and Korean Theatre Award.

The funeral hall is set up at Severance Hospital Funeral Hall in Sinchon, Seoul. The funeral procession will be held at 7 a.m. on the 4th. The burial site is at Yeraewon in Dongducheon, Gyeonggi Province.
