Choi Jae-sung's Rebuttal by Chu Mi-ae: "I Never Submitted a Resignation Letter... Moon Jae-in Dismissed Me"
Choi Jae-sung Rebuttals Again to "Don't Submit Resignation Letter" Remark
Former Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae, who revealed that former President Moon Jae-in pressured her to resign, raised her voice saying, "My resignation letter does not exist in this world." This is interpreted as a response to former Senior Secretary for Political Affairs Choi Jae-sung, a pro-Moon figure, who denied her revelation and said, "Either don't submit a resignation letter."
On the 3rd, Choo posted on her social media service (SNS), "To me, the meaning of 'resignation' was to abandon the mission to the Candlelight citizens and to break promises and principles. Therefore, I refused to resign and could not write a resignation letter," she said.
Earlier, Choo claimed on the YouTube channel 'OhmyTV' that former President Moon pressured her to resign, but former Senior Secretary Choi directly refuted this on KBS's 'Choi Kyung-young's Strong Current Affairs' that morning, saying, "Former President Moon never explicitly told her to quit, nor is he the type to do so." When the host asked, "Isn't it that if she submitted her resignation letter, then Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl at the time would have been forced to resign together?" Choi replied, "That is Choo's own thought; if so, then she shouldn't have submitted the resignation letter."
This post by Minister Choo is essentially a 'rebuttal' to former Senior Secretary Choi's denial. Choo said, "On December 16, 2020, the disciplinary decision against Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl was made at dawn, and shortly after arriving at work in the morning, I received a call from the Blue House Chief of Staff asking me to submit my resignation letter, but I clearly refused. In the afternoon, right after the disciplinary decision I brought was executed with the president's signature, the president's words asking me to step down meant that my position was effectively dismissed by the appointing authority at that moment."
She continued, "Even though my resignation letter was no longer necessary, the Blue House urged me to submit it until evening, but I could not comply. Instead, around 8 p.m., I conveyed my feelings to the Candlelight citizens by posting on Facebook."

At that time, she posted on SNS a poem titled 'Shattered Pieces' by poet Jung Ho-seung, along with the message, "I said I would give everything, but pieces still remain. Even if shattered, it was a dream toward a fair and just world. The pieces still remain whole and united." Reflecting on that time, former Minister Choo said, "It was a year in which I poured everything into myself, so even if shattered, the DNA inside me cannot be destroyed by anyone. It was a dedication poem to the Candlelight citizens who might be disappointed."
