Jeonbuk Provincial Police Agency will strengthen traffic safety activities during the summer vacation period from July 3 to September 10, approximately 10 weeks, to prevent the spread of drunk driving and other incidents taking advantage of the vacation atmosphere.

To maximize the crackdown effect, a "spot mobile crackdown" activity will be conducted, moving locations every 20 to 30 minutes for frequent inspections.
Additionally, the police stated that they plan to conduct drunk driving crackdowns at least once a week during daytime hours in areas including school zones and tourist spots to prevent daytime drunk driving accidents.
Meanwhile, drunk driving traffic accidents in the province have decreased compared to last year, with 27 fewer accidents (14.1%) and 41 fewer injuries (13.6%) as of June compared to the previous year.
The police will strictly crack down on clear violations related to Personal Mobility devices but will selectively enforce and educate on minor offenses. They also announced that promotional activities such as posting banners will be conducted around university areas, parks, and tourist spots where Personal Mobility device usage is high.
Personal Mobility (PM) refers to single-person transportation devices powered by electricity as defined in Article 2, Clause 19-2 of the Road Traffic Act. These include motorized bicycles with a maximum speed under 25 km/h and a total weight under 30 kg. Examples mainly include electric kickboards, electric two-wheeled balance vehicles, and bicycles that can move solely by electric motor power.
Along with this, illegal acts such as motorcycle noise violations will be jointly cracked down on in cooperation with local governments and related organizations such as the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, targeting motorcycles exceeding noise standards and illegal tuning.
