The 13th Korea-ASEAN Transport Cooperation Forum Held in Seoul on the 4th
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 4th that it will hold a Transportation Cooperation Forum with participation from the 10 ASEAN member countries at the Hyatt Hotel in Seoul. The Transportation Forum has been held annually since 2010 as a follow-up measure to the Korea-ASEAN Special Summit.
This year's forum will be held under the theme of 'Future Transportation and Smart Mobility.' The Ministry plans to introduce various new mobility technologies being promoted across all transportation sectors, including roads, railways, aviation, and public transportation. The ASEAN side will explain the transportation status of each country and discuss the applicability of Korean-style smart mobility.
Lee Seong-hoon, Director of Policy Planning at the Ministry, stated, "Based on the discussions at this forum, we plan to present the promotion strategies and implementation plans for Korean-style smart mobility tailored to each ASEAN country at the Korea-ASEAN Transport Ministers' Meeting to be held in November this year." He added, "Through this, it is expected that ASEAN will significantly contribute to achieving sustainable economic development based on eco-friendly transportation and ICT infrastructure."

Additionally, one-on-one business meetings by sector between ASEAN delegations and Korean companies will be promoted to strengthen public-private partnerships. The forum participants will also visit Busan, which is pursuing the hosting of the 2030 World Expo, to inspect sites such as the Eco Delta City Smart Village.
