Daegu Urban Corporation Organizational Restructuring Implemented... Establishment of Future Space Development Office and Grand Park Construction Project Team
Daegu Urban Development Corporation will implement an organizational restructuring effective on the 4th to successfully promote the construction of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport and the development of the Daegu 2nd National Industrial Complex, and to transform into a conclusive organization for the 8th term municipal administration tasks.
Following the regular organizational diagnosis of local public enterprises conducted until the end of May, the plan is to transform into an organization optimized for realizing Mayor Hong Jun-pyo’s 50-year vision for Daegu’s future, integrating similar and overlapping functions according to local public enterprise innovation guidelines, and strengthening ESG management focused on eco-friendliness, social responsibility, and transparent management.
Key restructuring measures include establishing the Future Space Development Office directly under the president to exclusively handle the integrated new airport construction, the largest project south of the Han River, and the 2nd National Industrial Complex newly attracted to Daegu after 14 years. Additionally, to accelerate the creation of Daegu Grand Park, the largest-scale private park development special project in Korea, the Grand Park Construction Project Team was newly launched.
Furthermore, loss compensation and cadastral tasks were integrated into the Compensation Business Department, and maintenance of public rental housing and public buildings was unified under the Public Housing Management Department to promote work innovation. To embed the achievements of winning the 2022 ESG Award Grand Prize throughout management, the Innovation Performance Team under the Planning and Innovation Office was reorganized into the ESG Innovation Department. The organization was finalized as 3 offices, 5 divisions, 1 project team, and 1 center, with team organizations under each department converted to a local public enterprise subsidiary system to strengthen the status and expertise of subordinate organizations.
