SKT Protects Industrial Site Safety with ICT
SK Telecom announced that it will participate in the ‘2023 International Safety and Health Exhibition’ held for four days from the 3rd at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 2 in Goyang City, together with SK Shieldus.
Hosted by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, the ‘International Safety and Health Exhibition’ is the largest safety and health specialized exhibition in Korea, where the latest technologies and products related to safety and health can be viewed and experienced in one place. SKT is participating in this exhibition under the theme ‘AI to Everywhere, AI for Everyone,’ showcasing safety and health-related products and services developed through information and communication technologies (ICT) such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), aiming to widely promote these and contribute to creating safer industrial sites.
At the ‘2023 International Safety and Health Exhibition,’ SKT and SK Shieldus will exhibit a total of 11 items across three fields: ▲Vision AI ▲Intelligent Safety ▲Smart Monitoring.
First, in the Vision AI field, they will present the ‘Drone Inspection and AI Analysis System’ used for safety inspections of base station towers and steel pipe poles; the ‘TLC Robotics Kit,’ capable of detecting hazardous gases in confined spaces and identifying smoldering embers after abnormal high temperatures or fire suppression; and the ‘AI Camera’ solution that automatically detects dangerous situations in industrial sites such as lack of safety gear, fall accidents, fires, as well as emergencies like collapses inside elevators.
In the Intelligent Safety field, they will showcase the ‘IoT Manhole,’ which monitors manhole opening status and oxygen/hazardous gases in real time, and the ‘Train Smart Safety Solution,’ which sounds an alarm to secure sufficient evacuation time for workers when a train approaches.
In the Smart Monitoring field, they will exhibit the ‘SUMiTS IoT Platform,’ which integrates various IoT devices related to security, fire, and industrial safety for unified monitoring; the ‘Fire Safety Keeper,’ a small-space fire extinguisher installed in distribution panels that releases extinguishing agents upon reaching a certain temperature to suppress fires at an early stage; the ‘Wearable Airbag,’ which inflates within 0.2 seconds upon a fall during work to reduce impact by up to 55%; the forklift collision prevention system (IPAS/IVEW+) that prevents collisions by detecting when pedestrians and vehicles or vehicles themselves come within a certain distance in industrial sites; and ‘e-TRAC & Safe One,’ which manages the location of assets and equipment indoors where GPS signals cannot be used, based on UWB (Ultra-Wideband) technology operating via high-frequency radio waves.
Additionally, SKT has been selected as a presenter at the ‘Large, Medium, and Small Enterprises Safety and Health Win-Win Cooperation Best Practice Presentation Contest’ held during the exhibition period, where it will present its safety and health win-win cooperation activities. This presentation contest will take place on the 4th at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 2.
