View original imageGwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is holding a ‘Communication Week’ until July 7th to mark the first anniversary of the 8th elected term.
The district office, which has been actively leading communication activities by visiting various sites, continues its communication efforts even on the first anniversary.
On the morning of the 30th, marking one year, ice cream was prepared for employees on their way to work, presenting the ‘A Spoonful of Kindness Communication Truck.’ Mayor Kim Kyung-ho made eye contact with the staff and shouted words of encouragement and support, saying, “Fighting! Thank you for your hard work! Let’s do our best!”
Then, from 11 a.m., a ‘Dialogue with Journalists on the First Anniversary of the 8th Elected Term’ was held in the main office’s Planning Situation Room with central and local media, creating a space for communication and harmony to share the achievements of the past year.
At this event, Mayor Kim personally explained the top 10 news stories of Gwangjin-gu selected through an online survey. He announced achievements such as the ‘Installation of U-turn lanes at Gunja Station intersection and 1.5 times expansion of the commercial area around Gunja Station,’ ‘Achieving 2nd grade in public institution integrity,’ and ‘Reorganization of long-term inactive street vendors,’ expressing a firm determination toward Gwangjin’s changing vision through a Q&A session with the press corps.
Additionally, Mayor Kim sent surprise emails to his staff. Starting with “Dear good friends! Thank you,” the message encouraged employees for their dedication to their respective duties and promised to be good friends and supporters.
The district office continues to pursue ‘communication nonetheless’ even on the first anniversary of the 8th elected term.
It is committed to internal communication activities to build empathy with employees. A ‘Good Friends Communication Power Plant’ will be established to share interests and concerns of employees working on the front lines together with the mayor.
The event will be held over three days in July, divided into ▲Time for Communication ▲Time for Sharing ▲Time for Empathy, featuring viewing of the first anniversary commemorative video, sharing ideas for improvements in organizational culture and requests for the mayor collected in advance, snack sharing, and empathy recreation activities to promote communication and harmony across generations.
There will also be time to encourage outdoor workers. To support outdoor field workers who silently maintain a clean and safe Gwangjin, such as environmental officers, illegal dumping inspectors, cleaning contractors, and road patrol teams, items to cope with the heat like cool sleeves, cool packs, and hand fans will be provided.
A communication session will be held to encourage Gwangjin’s youth who face an uncertain future. Together with members of the Gwangjin Youth Network, youth from each division will share their true feelings through discussions and proposals on ‘decent’ policies they hope for.
Mayor Kim will rush to schools to serve as a one-day traffic safety guardian for morning commute dream trees. Following ‘communication in front of schools,’ he will communicate with parents and children on their way to school in the morning and check the safety of school zones’ safe routes.
He emphasized that the achievement of the first year of the 8th elected term, which involved tirelessly visiting sites and communicating, was ‘communication,’ is currently ‘communication,’ and will continue to be ‘communication’ in the future.
Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “Residents say they appreciate the immediate response when they speak, and just knowing that difficult problems are being considered and worked on together brings great comfort,” adding, “I will continue to do my best to create a happy Gwangjin-gu that develops through communication, always thinking from the residents’ perspective without losing the initial spirit.”
