Busan Bukbu Education Support Office Operates 'Bukbu Math UpGo Camp'
Busan Northern Office of Education will operate the ‘2023 Northern Math UpGo Camp’ for about 120 first and second-year middle school students in the district at the National Busan Science Museum on July 1 and 8.
This camp aims to supplement the academic gaps and deficiencies caused by COVID-19 and to increase students' interest in learning mathematics.
Participating students will be divided into small teams to engage in cooperative learning during the experiential camp held on the 1st.
First-year middle school students will experience career programs such as mechanical engineer, robotics engineer, and principles of drones. They will understand various mathematical principles in plane and solid figures through activities like ‘Using Archimedes Polyhedra,’ ‘The Mystery of Patterns Drawn by Traces,’ and ‘Voronoi Diagram.’
Additionally, through cooperative learning activities such as the ‘Speed UpGo Cooperative Problem Challenge (Treasure Hunt Stolen by X),’ students can cultivate character and a sense of community.
Second-year middle school students will learn the practical value of mathematics in daily life through individual experiential activities involving ‘Fractals, Rhombicosidodecahedron, Hyperspace, Da Vinci Bridge,’ and more.
Students will also participate in programs like ‘Speed UpGo’ and ‘Creativity UpGo,’ which focus on cooperative learning based on school curriculum content to creatively solve problems.
