Korea Customs Service and Japan Customs Directors Meeting Resumes After 7 Years
The Korea Customs Service will hold the Korea-Japan Customs Commissioners' Meeting in the second half of this year. It will be the first meeting in seven years since it was held in Tokyo, Japan in 2016.
On the 29th, the Korea Customs Service announced that Commissioner Yoon Tae-sik recently agreed with Kazuhiro Ejima, Director-General of Customs at Japan's Ministry of Finance, to hold the "32nd Korea-Japan Customs Commissioners' Meeting" in the second half of this year.
The meeting is a result of the agreement reached at the recently held "8th Korea-Japan Finance Ministers' Meeting" and will be held to discuss detailed measures to strengthen customs cooperation.

At the meeting, the Korea Customs Service plans to discuss agendas such as responses to cross-border e-commerce, promotion of trade through enhanced utilization of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), and cooperation in cracking down on illegal and hazardous goods.
