75 out of 100 Yeongdeok residents say "County administration is doing well" positive
8th Elected Term, 74.7% Positive in Administrative Demand Survey, 84% Expectation
Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, conducted an administrative demand survey to reflect the opinions of residents in county administration on the occasion of the first anniversary of the 8th term of the civilian government, revealing that 75 out of 100 residents evaluated the county administration's performance as 'good.'

View original imageAccording to the survey, 74.7% of residents gave a positive evaluation of the county administration's performance, while 25.3% gave a negative evaluation. The expectation for county administration work was 84% positive and 16% negative.
In particular, the fact that the expectation for county administration work was 9.3% higher than the current positive evaluation indicates that residents have high expectations for Yeongdeok-gun's administrative services, according to the survey agency.
In the satisfaction evaluation of living environment, among 11 areas, housing and environment scored 67.6 points, welfare 66.8 points, and convenience of life and public safety 66.2 points were rated highly, while culture and leisure scored 62 points, education and environment 61.7 points, and economy 60.1 points were relatively lower. However, positive evaluations were generally standardized across all areas, resulting in a comprehensive satisfaction score of 65.8 points.
Additionally, in the living environment satisfaction evaluation, the residents' perceived satisfaction as consumers of administrative services scored 67.3 points, which was 3.1 points higher than the providers' element satisfaction of 64.2 points, indicating that residents have a positive image of Yeongdeok-gun's administrative efforts.
Furthermore, 29.6% of respondents suggested investing in revitalizing the culture and tourism sector for the local economy, 22.6% emphasized the need for unemployment measures and job creation, followed by 18.6% for the establishment of high-tech industrial complexes, 17.1% for revitalizing traditional markets, and 12.1% for expanding support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The high positive evaluation of Yeongdeok-gun's 8th term civilian government is attributed to policies that residents can feel directly, such as the operation of a mobile task force for handling civil complaints, payment of filial piety allowances, installation of health vitality centers at health clinics, as well as communication-focused administration initiatives like the operation of visiting communication days, open county mayor's office, happiness communication rooms in towns and townships, and improvements to the county office's happiness civil service center, all of which were favorably evaluated by residents.
Kim Myung-jung, Director of the Planning and Budget Office, stated, "The high satisfaction of residents with county administration is the result of their empathy with the efforts of the 8th term civilian government, which prioritized resident integration and regional development." He added, "We will always listen to residents' opinions to secure growth engines and revitalize the economy, and practice responsible administration that communicates with residents."

This survey was conducted by Ace Research, a registered public opinion survey institution, through one-on-one face-to-face interviews with 1,015 men and women aged 18 or older residing in Yeongdeok-gun. The sampling error is 95%, with a confidence level of ±3.0%P, and the sample was allocated according to population ratios by region, gender, and age.
