'If We Cannot Travel at the Speed of Light' Kim Cho-yeop Wins Gold in Chinese Nebula Award Translation Category
Author Kim Cho-yeop's short story collection "If We Cannot Travel at the Speed of Light" won the Gold Award in the translated works category at the 14th China Nebula Awards, the Korea Science Fiction Writers Alliance announced on the 28th.
The World China Science Fiction Awards were established in 2010 by the World China Science Fiction Association. The award targets SF creators who publish works in Chinese, regardless of nationality. "If We Cannot Travel at the Speed of Light" was translated into Chinese and published locally last year.

Kim Cho-yeop is a former scientist turned SF writer who earned a master's degree in biosensor research from Pohang University of Science and Technology. In 2017, she won the grand prize in the short story category at the 2nd Korea Science Fiction Literature Awards for her short story "Gwan-nae Bun-sil." Since then, she has received the 43rd Today's Writer Award, the 11th Young Writer Award, and the 62nd Korea Publishing Culture Award (writing - general knowledge category), among others.
