To prevent recurrence of flood damage experienced last year, the district formed a 'Flood Preparedness TF Team' and thoroughly prepared flood and wind disaster response measures including dredging rainwater inlets, installing water-blocking panels in low-lying areas, maintaining facilities such as installing operable security windows, deploying companion partners for flood-vulnerable individuals, emergency safety alarm services, and distributing the AI robot ‘Kimi’.
The training assumed an emergency flood situation, focusing on areas at risk of flooding, and was conducted jointly with Gwanak Fire Station, companion partners, and the autonomous disaster prevention group to test and review the preparedness measures through emergency situation dissemination, on-site dispatch, and facility inspections.
Starting with the Disaster Safety Situation Room issuing a level 3 flood warning, when emergency situations such as heavy rain in the area and AI robot ‘Kimi’ malfunction were broadcast, nine functional teams including the flood control mobile unit, companion partner operation team, and flood alert service operation team were dispatched to the site. Simultaneously, progress and response results were reported via video conference to strengthen on-site response capabilities.
Additionally, under the control of the Disaster Safety Situation Room, the Gwanak Fire Station 119 rescue team safely rescued two residents who had not yet evacuated from a flooded house.
In particular, Park Junhee, the district mayor who directly participated in the training, inspected facilities such as the AI robot, water-blocking panels, and operable security windows with residents, and operated an actual water pump, emphasizing the importance of the training and raising awareness about flood damage prevention.
The district plans to continue conducting ongoing disaster response training and focus on improving the flood damage response capabilities of Gwanak-gu officials and residents.
