"I'll Help You Win Construction Contracts"... Gwangju Seo-gu Council Member Accused of Fraud
A basic lawmaker in Gwangju has been accused of approaching a company representative under the pretense of helping secure construction contracts and embezzling money.
According to the Anti-Corruption Economic Crime Investigation Unit of the Gwangju Police Agency on the 27th, a complaint was filed on the 12th against Assemblyman A of Seo-gu Council in Gwangju on charges of fraud.
The complainant, Mr. B, known as the representative of a local demolition construction company, claimed that Assemblyman A embezzled goods worth about 200 million won from him several times between 2021 and 2022.
Assemblyman A allegedly demanded money and goods in return for arranging construction contracts but provided no assistance.
So far, Mr. B stated that he gave golf equipment, luxury department store items, holiday gifts, and sponsorship funds.
