Gwangju Police Agency Awards Scholarships to Children of Fallen Officers
The Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency and the Mudol Scholarship Foundation awarded scholarships to the children of police officers who retired due to line-of-duty deaths and other reasons.
On the morning of the 26th, the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency presented scholarships worth a total of 32.2 million KRW to 20 children of police officers who retired due to line-of-duty deaths, deaths, or injuries while in service at the Mudeung Hall in the agency building.
The event was attended by Kim Hong-gyun, chairman of the Mudol Scholarship Foundation, other board members, the leadership of the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency, as well as about 10 scholarship recipients and their families.
Chairman Kim Hong-gyun encouraged the students, saying, “I hope this scholarship will help you continue your studies with the confidence of ‘I can do it.’”
Gwangju Police Chief Lim Yong-hwan responded, “We are grateful to the scholarship foundation for providing this meaningful scholarship, and the Gwangju Police will do their best to protect the safety of citizens in return.”

The Mudol Scholarship Foundation, established in September last year as a corporate foundation, provides scholarships to students from financially disadvantaged families and children of police officers who died in the line of duty.
