Toyota Korea Opens Pre-Orders for 7-Seater SUV Highlander
Toyota Korea announced on the 27th that it will begin pre-orders nationwide at official Toyota dealer showrooms ahead of the launch of the 7-seater sport utility vehicle (SUV) Highlander next month.
The Highlander is a 7-seater SUV characterized by efficient fuel economy, comfortable ride quality, and versatile space utilization. Toyota has been selling the Highlander primarily in the North American market from the 1st generation in 2001 to the current 4th generation. This is its first launch in Korea. The Highlander is equipped with a 2.5ℓ hybrid powertrain and will be sold in two trims: Platinum and Limited.
The exterior features a low-center-of-gravity stable stance and a strong presence. At the same time, it expresses power and elegance by incorporating smooth curves. The interior stands out with a horizontally emphasized spatial composition. The combination of luxurious materials and colors highlights the image of a premium SUV.
The Highlander is configured with three rows, and the second row features independent captain seats. The seats in each row are arranged in a stepped layout to provide passengers with an open view. To accommodate outdoor activities comfortably, the second and third-row seats can be folded flat simultaneously.
The platform applies the low-center-of-gravity, lightweight, and high-rigidity TNGA-K (Toyota New Global Architecture-K). Additionally, 'Pitch Body Control' is applied to reduce vehicle pitching during acceleration by controlling motor output, providing a smoother ride.
The Highlander delivers a total system output of 246 horsepower by combining a 2.5ℓ naturally aspirated gasoline engine and an electric motor. It achieves an outstanding fuel efficiency of 13.8 km/ℓ based on combined mileage, compared to models in the same class, and qualifies for benefits as an eco-friendly and low-emission vehicle.
