Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is supporting small business owners and consumers by fully funding the 4th issuance of the ‘Seongbuk Love Gift Certificate’ ahead of the vacation season.
Seongbuk-gu will issue gift certificates worth 7 billion KRW at 10 AM on July 5th. Previously, the first to third issuances totaling 28 billion KRW in January, March, and May were all sold out on the day of release, and a total of 61 billion KRW is planned to be issued throughout this year.
The Seongbuk Love Gift Certificate has served as a catalyst for the local economy frozen by COVID-19 since 2020, when the pandemic was at its peak, and demand has recently increased further amid the current high inflation, with certificates selling out quickly upon issuance.
Consumers can purchase the gift certificates at a 7% discount off the face value, up to a maximum of 500,000 KRW per person.
The Seongbuk Love Gift Certificate can be easily purchased by installing any of five payment apps: ▲Seoul Pay+ ▲Moneytree ▲T-money Pay ▲Shinhan SOL, among others. The holding limit is 1.5 million KRW, and the certificates can be used at affiliated stores within Seongbuk-gu.
