Gyeongbuk Youth Trade Academy, 11th Class of 60 Cadets Entrance Ceremony
Global Youth Trade Talent Development Program
The 11th class of the ‘Gyeongbuk Youth Trade Academy,’ where local governments directly train global trade experts, is launching.
On the 26th, Gyeongbuk Province announced that it will hold the entrance ceremony for the ‘11th Gyeongbuk Youth Trade Academy’ at the Korea International Trade Association Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters.
About 70 people attended the entrance ceremony, including Cha Sun-ae, Head of Youth Policy Division of Gyeongbuk Province, Kim Byung-yu, Head of Member Services Division of the Korea International Trade Association, Lee Sang-heon, Head of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters, and trainees.
The Gyeongbuk Youth Trade Academy is a representative regional trade professional training program jointly operated by Gyeongbuk Province and the Korea International Trade Association since 2013, offering experience from trade knowledge to practical skills.
Over the past 10 years, it has nurtured 682 talents, with 394 out of 447 employment candidates (88.1%) successfully finding jobs or starting businesses, achieving notable results in the frontline of trade.
For this 11th class recruitment, 161 local youths showed interest and applied, and 60 were finally selected through the first document screening and the second interview evaluation.
The selected trainees will begin with preliminary online basic trade education and then receive a total of 206 hours of in-person practical trade training over four weeks from June 26 to July 21.
The curriculum consists of △ trade theory △ trade English △ market analysis and export simulation.
This year, the residential training, which was suspended due to COVID-19, will partially resume to provide specialized intensive education in foreign languages, industry, and employment skills.
Additionally, the curriculum will diversify to enhance practical field skills by offering education on understanding key industries, negotiation, purchasing, and logistics through external institutions.
After completing the training, participants will have opportunities for trade field visits, including direct participation in overseas exhibitions to experience buyer marketing and overseas market research, along with experiential field tours and employment programs such as job fairs.
This year, educational support from the Youth Trade Professionals Association, formed by graduates of the Youth Trade Academy, will continue.
Senior graduates active in trade occupations will provide vivid on-site special lectures, customized employment mentoring, and share industry-specific employment strategies and know-how.
