The support targets children of multicultural families residing in Seongnam who are elementary, middle, or high school students. Recipients also include children from basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty groups, legally single-parent families, families with disabilities, families with three or more children, North Korean defectors' children, and out-of-school youth.
The support covers fields such as music, art, Taekwondo, and other arts and physical education areas, as well as vocational skills like design, beauty and hairdressing, and cooking.
However, the courses must be taken at academies registered in Seongnam to be eligible for support.
Seongnam has secured a budget of 50 million KRW for this project and will accept applications from 100 eligible individuals until the 14th of next month.
Applications can be submitted by filling out the form on the Seongnam city website and sending it via email (snwf@korea.kr) or fax (031-729-2919).
There are 5,867 multicultural family households in Seongnam, with 1,988 children attending elementary, middle, and high school. Including 1,450 infants and toddlers, the total number of children under 19 from multicultural families is 3,438.
